Sneha Sadan College of Special Education belongs to the Congregation of Mother of Carmel Mary Matha Province Angamaly. The founder of CMC is Saint Fr.Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Fr.Leopold Boccarow.Our vision is “God is my strength and my life”. Our mission is to enlighten every teacher trainees through moral, intellectual aesthetic and spiritual values. And our goal is to inculcate in the education, training, rehabilitation and inclusion of handicapped in the society.
This is realized, as we strive to train authentic persons and competent teachers dedicated to serve the children with special needs. Institution has its humble beginning in the year 2002, with diploma in special education which is affiliated to National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disability (NIEPMD) and B.Ed course in the year 2008 which is affiliated to M.G University, kottayam. Both the courses are recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi.
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has been set up as a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in order to regulate and monitor the training programmes in the field of disability rehabilitation and special education. RCI maintain the central rehabilitation register which are mainly documents details of all qualified professionals who operate and deliver training in educational program for the targeted communities. The RCI Act also prescribes punitive action against unqualified persons delivering services to persons with disability.
