D.Ed Special Education (ID)

D.Ed Special Education in Intellectual Disability (ID) is a diploma course. The Course in Special Education aims to develop professionals for special education within a broad framework of education in the present context. The course will enable pre-service teachers to acquire knowledge, develop competencies and practice skills to impart education to children with disabilities. The general objective of the course is to prepare special teachers at primary to elementary levels to serve in the following settings:

i) Special schools
ii) Inclusive schools
iii) Home based programme

It is a certificate level teacher training programme that equips candidates to become nursery school teachers. The course basically caters to elementary level education in India and is an important job-oriented programme in the field of education.

QUALIFICATION

Students who have passed the entrance exam and have 50% marks in Plus 2 examination are eligible for the course.

DURATION

Course has two year duration. Exams will be conducted as semester wise pattern.

There are 25 seats for D.Ed admission

FEE STRUCTURE

Course has Rs.60,000/- 2yrs as course fee but there may be variations according to the university fees

B.Ed Special Education (ID)

B.Ed Special Education in Intellectual Disability (ID) is a two year (4 Semester) Full-Time programme aimed at developing teachers for children with disabilities for various settings. To equip trainees with various techniques of teaching children with mental retardation associated with additional disabilities in special and inclusive set up. Bachelor of Education [B. Ed] course is an undergraduate professional degree that prepares students to work as teachers in schools.

The general objective of the course is to prepare special teachers at primary to elementary levels to serve in the following settings:

i) Special schools
ii) Inclusive schools
iii) Home based programme

QUALIFICATION

Candidates securing 50% or more marks at a bachelor's degree examination in arts/science/commerce will be eligible for admission to the Course. The regulations prescribed by the State Government and/or University concerning minimum eligibility criteria reservation policies will invariably be taken into consideration.

FEE STRUCTURE

Course has Management - 1,20,000/- 2yrs, Merit - 90,000/- 2yrs - as course fee but there may be variations according to the university fees.
